The High Nibble
The High Nibble is an Australian based maker of retro computer replica kits of early microcomputers based on the Intel 8080 and Zilog Z80 microprocessors of the 1970s: the IMSAI 8080 microcomputer system, made famous by the ’80s movie War Games, and the Cromemco Z-1 a Z80 based system that ran a licensed version of Unix called Cromix. Along with these two examples of early microcomputers from the 1970s The High Nibble also makes the VT132 a replica kits of the venerable DEC VT100 terminal along with an add-on for the two microcomputers, the S-132, that provides additional hardware based emulation of a range of S-100 expansion cards including the: Cromemco Dazzler, the first graphics card for microcomputers; Cromemco D+7AIO, adds analog joysticks, sound and digital I/O – think Arduino for 1970s micros; IMSAI VIO, memory mapped character based video output that would replace dumb terminals in later microcomputers. See and play with all these kits on the stand.
